“Since our AGM when you performed two kahani’s, we have received so much positive feedback! Participants talked about how the diverse realities of South Asian women’s experiences were illustrated in a way to spark personal reflection and thought. Your work is a beautiful and creative way to encourage dialogue amongst communities about violence against women issues.”

We were astounded by the commitment and level of professionalism that the directors/writers and the rest of the cast displayed. They worked effortlessly many months prior to the event ensuring that each monologue would suit the nature of the event. Mehreen and Umbereen both went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that the event went smoothly.

Since the completion of the event, many requests have been made to have another showing of “Meri Kahani” in a venue that could hold a bigger audience. The community of Peel has been moved by the play and undoubtedly has been propelled to work towards change in the realm of demystifying the taboo around sexual abuse within the South Asian community and working towards its eradication. It has been an absolute pleasure and honour to work with such talented and passionate women. We truly hope that we have other opportunities in the future to work alongside them towards the elimination of oppressions and violence.
